Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is arguably one of the most renown multiplayer games ever made. The game launched the franchise into the modern era of warfare and at the time many thought Call of Duty to be the pinnacle of multiplayer gaming.
Following the success of Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, and 3 were released before the franchise entered the futuristic grounds it now roams. We already know Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare didn’t perform as expected but the remaster of Modern Warfare was received beyond expectations.
Last week Activision CEO announced Call of Duty would ‘return to its roots’ in 2017 and its very likely that the unknown game SledgeHammer is working on (Possibly WWII or Vietnam) may be released in conjunction with a Modern Warfare 2 remaster.
Activision is a business minded company and have three development studios working on three separate series of Call of Duty games. With the overwhelmingly positive reception of the Modern Warfare remaster it only makes sense that they would remaster the whole the trilogy. I for one have no complaints, unless they include more supply drops.
